03 An Energy Transition for the Future

english language

The increasing consumption of resources and fossil energy results in crisis-like symptoms, such as energy shortages and rising energy prices. The disastrous consequences of this including climate change, were long believed to be unpredictable. Thus, we have to change economic policies aiming at growth and our entire life style. This is indeed an obligation towards the next generations. In this process, rich economies have to act as examples and initiate change. How do we have to change our energy systems and redefine our energy consumption and our access to energy? Which impact will such changes have on the economy?
