Doris Uhlich’s ‘Every Body Electric’ marks the beginning of this year’s Health Symposium. Joined on stage by people with physical disabilities, the artist will conjure up individual and collective ‘energetic icons’. This performance is a pared-down but radical invitation to explore potentials through the medium of dance. It will enable the audience to immerse itself in a kind of energetic archaeology. What possibilities emerge when machines such as wheelchairs are taken to be extensions of the body?
