Speakers

Former President of the Republic of Ireland; President, MRFCJ - The Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice, Dublin Abstract Key Note
Climate change needs to be addressed with greater urgency, and a set of core values which enables the world to come together and adopt a new climate agreement. Climate justice links human rights and development to achieve a human centred approach, safeguarding the rights of the most vulnerable and sharing the burdens and benefits of climate change and its resolution equitably and fairly. The sense of urgency relates to emission reduction targets and actions to stay below two degrees Celsius as agreed in Cancun, and to resolve fundamental issues over the future of the Kyoto Protocol.
