| In 1999, Peter Fischer joined the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) in Zurich, Switzerland. From 2001 to 2007, he worked in Russia as an economics correspondent and bureau chief for Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus, based in Moscow. From 2007 to 2010, he was chief correspondent for China and bureau chief for the NZZ Beijing Office. He returned to Zurich in autumn 2010 where he now heads the economic editing board. |
| Peter Fischer studied economics, business economics, international law and political sciences at the University of Bern, Switzerland. He also obtained an Advanced Studies Certificate in International Economic Policy Research from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany. He has also been a research fellow at the Hamburg World Economics Institute (HWWA), the Europa Kolleg Hamburg and the Spacial Modelling Centre in Kiruna, Sweden. He is the author of several books and publications on questions of economic integration and migration, new economic geography and economic policy. |
