Indien, das 2020 China als bevölkerungsreichstes Land mit über 1,35 Milliarden EinwohnerInnen überholen soll, glänzt seit Jahren mit einem rasanten Wirtschaftswachstum von über sieben Prozent im Jahr. Die Regierung hat zahlreiche Programme wie eine „Smart City Initiative“, „Start-up India“ oder „Make in India“ initiiert, um aus Indien ein globales Produktions- und Innovationszentrum zu machen.

Ph.D. Balan GURUMOORTHY

Chief Executive, Society for Innovation and Development, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru

 B. Gurumoorthy is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Science in the Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Presently he is also serving as the Chief Executive of the Society for Innovation and Development (SID), a Society established by IISc to serve as the outreach interface for the beneficial exploitation of the innovations and the human potential existing at the Indian Institute of Science. His research interests are in the areas of CAD, Product Information Modelling, Computational Metrology and Product design and prototyping. He did his B.Tech at IIT Madras in 1982 followed by M.E. and Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA in 1984 and 1987 respectively (all in Mechanical Engineering). He has guided 17 Ph.D. dissertations and is presently supervising or co-supervising 6 Ph.D. students. He is working on projects funded by Faurecia and the Government of India. He has 43 Journal publications and 4 patents. He serves as Associate Editor of three journals. He is currently the Vice-Chair, Asia-Pacific, IFIP WG 5.1 on Global Product Development for the Whole Life Cycle. Two technologies (automatic feature recognition, visual interactive solids) developed in his laboratory have been licensed to industry and are in active use.

Binod HAMPAPUR

Executive Vice President and Global Head, Talent & Technology Operations and Quality, Infosys Ltd., Bengaluru

 Binod Hampapur Rangadore is an Executive Vice President and the Global Head of Talent and Technology Operations & Quality.
 Binod is responsible for the following functions in Infosys: Recruitment, Global Immigration, Quality, Government Relations, India Business Unit, Computer & Communications Division, Information Systems, Information Security Group, Procurement. He is a "Trustee" of the Infosys Foundation & Infosys Employee Welfare Trust. Binod has over 32 years of industry experience and has held several leadership positions at Infosys. He joined the company in 1993 as the Head of Manpower Planning. From 1996 to 1998, he was Head of the Customer Support Group for the Banking business unit. Subsequently, he was Senior Vice President and Global Head of Commercial and Facilities functions. Binod took on the role of the Global Head of Commercial and Corporate Relations functions in 2010. As a responsible corporate citizen, Binod has funded the establishment of a 150-bed hospital for Sri Sringeri Mutt. In an honorary role, he is the Chairman of the Board of Governors at Rangadore Memorial Hospital, which is named after his father, the late H.S. Rangadore. Binod started his career in MICO BOSCH as a technical sales engineer. He has a bachelor's degree in industrial and production engineering from the BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, India.

MA Renu PALL

Indian Ambassador to Austria, Vienna

 Renu Pall, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Austria & Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1988. Her previous assignment was Joint Secretary (Indian Ocean Region) in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, a position she held from September 2015 till January 2017.
 Prior to that, from May 2011, she held the post of Joint Secretary (ASEAN Multilateral) in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, dealing with India’s Act East policy with the ASEAN and EAS and the Asia-Europe Meeting. Her overseas assignments have included Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India at Berlin, Germany; Minister (Political) at Embassy of India at Washington DC, USA; Counsellor (Political) at Embassy of India at Paris, France; and Second Secretary (Political & Information) at the Embassy of India in Moscow, Russian Federation.
 In between her overseas assignments, she has been Director for relations with United States and Canada, Director in the Foreign Secretary’s Office and Under Secretary & Deputy Secretary for relations with US and Canada in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. Prior to joining IFS, she was part of the Indian Civil Accounts Service from 1985-1988, where she was Assistant Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of Finance at New Delhi.
 She has a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Political Science from Delhi University and was pursuing her Masters in International Relations from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi when she joined the Indian Civil Services in August 1985.
