OeAD – SUMMER SCHOOLS

Summer University GBS (7 ECTS) – 18 July to 9 August | Scholarships available – apply until 31 March!

Green.Building.Solutions. is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020 in Vienna, aiming at students of architecture, construction, engineering and similar fields. During the 3-week program, you will get deeper insights into sustainable construction, renewable energies and alternative building concepts from renowned Austrian experts!

Summer School AEMS (5 ECTS) – 20 July to 7 August | Scholarships available – apply until 15 April!

You want to learn more about the importance of the economic system for the global climate crisis? And, more importantly, what can be done about it? The summer school Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems invites students of all fields to learn about the interactions between environment, society and economy – and hear about possible reform approaches for the economic and monetary systems.

CALL FOR SCOUTS CIVIC EUROPE

Civic Europe is an idea challenge and civic incubator realised by MitOst and Sofia Platform funded by Stiftung Mercator. They support civil society initiatives through an idea challenge (which will support up to 15 local initiatives with grants of up to €50,000 each) and capacity-building measures on the local level in Central, Southeastern and Southern Europe.

Civic Europe is looking for civil society organisations or individuals who have a broad network in their country and who can support Civic Europe by directly addressing local actors that might want to apply for a grant and sharing the call for the 2020 idea challenge within their network. They are looking for a scouts in particular in the following countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Spain.

Ö1 REPARATUR DER ZUKUNFT #GEMMA

Ö1 ruft zu einer innovativen Ideensammlung auf, die Technologien, Dienstleistungen sowie gesellschaftliche und politische Prozesse verändern, verbessern oder ersetzen sollen. Ideen aller Art sind erwünscht, die Probleme erkennen und Lösungen anbieten: Klimaschutz, Armutsbekämpfung, Energiewende, Demokratie und Partizipation, Forschung, Life-Style & Fashion, Bildung und Ernährung in Form von Startups, Podcasts, Blogs, Musik & künstlerische Performances, Apps, Events und vieles mehr. Erlaubt ist alles, was selbstgemacht, selbstorganisiert und selbstgedacht wird.

Wer? Was? Wann?

Eingeladen sind 20+ Jährige, die in kurzen Videoclips vorstellen, was sie neu und anders machen. Je eher man teilnimmt, desto hörbarer und sichtbarer wird der Beitrag zur Reparatur der Zukunft.

5th TURKEY EUROPE FORUM

From September 6 to 13, 2020 the fifth Turkey Europe Future Forum will take place in Warsaw and Berlin. Stiftung Mercator is inviting 30 Young Leaders from Turkey, Germany and other European countries to participate in this cross-sectoral program and share their ideas on current developments in Europe and Turkey.

The topic of the fifth Forum is “Between strong states and open societies – where does our future lie?” and it tackles questions like “How can we ensure the cohesion of our societies without compromising their openness? How can democracies defend themselves against authoritarian tendencies? What role does civil society play in this, and how can it exploit digitalization to its advantage? What is the future of multilateralism given the diverse global challenges?”. In workshops, lectures and intercultural training sessions, the participants will discuss the relationship of both neighbours and share their sector- and country-specific perspectives. In addition, high-ranking speakers, guests and hosts will be offering unique insights into the politics, economic affairs, culture and society of the participating countries.

POSTDOC ACADEMY FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP

The Postdoc Academy for Transformational Leadership is a unique program that develops the next generation of leaders in sustainability research affiliated with a European research institution. With this year’s focus topic “Land use practices in a globalised world“, the program provides an intensive training with four seminars in two years that broaden the research competencies of early-career researchers and promote their qualification towards transdisciplinary leadership. The program also offers seed funding to groups of participants planning to initiate research collaborations. Furthermore, an active network of current and former participants of the program will be established.

The program is an initiative of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and a joint project of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the four academic centres Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Stockholm Resilience Centre and The Dutch Research Institute for Transitions (DRIFT), Rotterdam.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH PROGRAM

The International Youth Initiative Program (YIP) is a 10-month societal entrepreneurship training that provides a platform for young people to develop their fullest potential, expand their understanding and find their authentic task in society and the world.

Participants aged 18-28 learn, work, live and organize together as they increase their global and personal awareness.

The students will create an Initiative Forum in Sweden April 8-12th 2020 on the theme of “Redefining growth through interconnection”.
