Austrian Macedonian Days 2015

For the second year Club Alpbach Macedonia in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy and Austrian Economic Chamber in Skopje, organized the traditional annual event “Austrian Macedonian Days 2015”, initiating and further strengthening of existing Austrian -Macedonian friendship, relations and cooperation. The project started at 22 October in South East European University in Skopje, with the Austrian Career Day. The Austrian companies present their business in front of the young professionals and students. The companies have present their activities and what kind of employees they are recruiting, which requirement should be fulfilled in order to get a working post and similar. This year 10 companies have been part of the Austrian Career Day. (EVN, UNIQA, SECURICOM, DEMUTH business partner, KNAUF, PORSCHE, BTS Art Factory, S&T, QUEHENBERGER logistic and SPARKASSE Bank.)
The second day, 23 October continued with the conference day in Hotel Stone Bridge in Skopje with two panel discussion, the first topic was “Youngsters making a better Europe”, moderated by Mr. Gunther Fehlinger, Advisory Board Member of Club Alpbach Macedonia, with the opening speech of the Austrian Commercial Attaché in Skopje Mr. Gerhard Schlattl and the President of Club Alpbach Macedonia Mr. Pishtar Lutfiu, in which panel participated: Dr. Franz Fischler, the President of European Forum Alpbach, Adelina Marku, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, R. Macedonia and Stevo Pendarovski, University American Colleague, Skopje.
The topic of the second panel was “From Education to a Launching a Career: Transferring Good Entrepreneurial Practices from Austria to Macedonia”, moderated by Dr. Katerina Shapkova, Advisory Board Member of Club Alpbach Macedonia, with the opening speech of the Minister of Education and Science Mr. Abdilaqim Ademi and Mr. Christian Rupp, Federal Executive Secretary eGovernment Austria. The panelists were: Christoph Demuth, Demuth Business Partner, Austria, Olgica Spasevska, Sparkasse Bank; Gerhard Schlattl, the Austrian Commercial Attaché in Skopje and Bernd Lösching, EVN AG. The objective of the event was the affirmation of the existing Austrian – Macedonian relations, stimulating the youth activism in dealing with key issues in the Macedonian society, support of young professionals with international experience, exchange of knowledge and skills at all societal levels, improvement of the legal legislation concerning the business climate in Republic of Macedonia, higher youth employment rate in companies with Austrian capital, exchange and presentation of new ideas concerning international, regional as well as local cooperation among youth.
The activities continued with the Forum Alpbach Network meeting, which the guests from Austria, Turkey, Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo present their Club activities and future projects in their countries. The evening was reserved for cultural events like Austrian Waltz.
The agenda of Dr. Fischler was enough busy by meeting of the politician in Macedonia. He had a meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Elena Kuzmanovska and then with the Leader of the Party – Democratic Union for Integration Mr. Ali Ahmeti.
On 24 October was planned to discover the city of Skopje, with some cultural and social activities, by visiting the castle of Skopje, churches and museums of the city.

Austrian Macedonian Days 2014
October 16 – 19, 2014
Club Alpbach Macedonia in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in Macedonia realized 3 days project in Skopje.
In this project were included several activities and there were invited all the Alpbach Clubs/IG Regions (Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia). The goal of the project was Initiating and further strengthening of existing Austrian – Macedonian friendship, relations and cooperation vis-à-vis the Macedonian EU integration process.
The project started with Gala Night in the Residence of the Austrian Embassy. In the name of Alpbach Regions we awarded Dr. Erhard Busek with a Certificate for his contribution in South East European Countries. The day after, 17 October the project continued with a Conference in the University “Krill and Methodius” Law Faculty, with two Panel Discussion and we have panelist from Macedonia and Austria. The third day, 18 October we realized the Austrian Career Day in the FON University in Skopje. There were invited all Austrian Companies in Macedonia and they presented their activities and what kind of employees they are recruiting, which requirement should be fulfilled in order to get a working post and similar. The target group was students and young professionals.
After the Career Day, we continued with the project presentations from Club Alpbach Regions, (All Club Alpbach Regions present a research project from their representative country, the idea of this project was to make a research at their representative countries about the Austrian companies).We close the project with dealing certificates to all participants and after that we had time for cafe and discovering Skopje.
