Networking in the European Union

Networking and Lobbying are the preconditions for successful EU work. At the European level, this requires sometimes a different approach than at the national level. Brussels based lobbyists, practitioners from EU institutions and national administrations as well as - for the first time - representatives of European business associations and lobbying companies will report on their experience in this field. There is another new item on the agenda: The influence of the media in the EU-decision making process will be examined more closely. What is the key to successfull lobbying? How much power do media, business associations and the consulting networks of the Commission have in reality? And how do third countries judge their possibilities to influence the interplay between Council, Parliament and Commission? These are just some of the questions, which will be answered at the seminar.

This seminar is intended especially for business people, representatives of interest groups and civil servants concerned with EU issues as well as interested students and young academics-
