Prior to the elections of the Austrian national assembly in 2013, housing and living standards had been at the centre of debate in an unprecedented way. For many years, the Austrian system of housing has worked very well and could even be considered as a European best practice model. However, insecurities and worries grow more recently.
A new approach to housing policy has thus become crucial. The Austrian housing system is in urgent need of social, ecological and economic innovation. At the event “Re:think Wohn.Bau.Politik”, the European Forum Alpbach brings together the key stakeholders from the economy, science, architecture and politics as well as representatives of civil society. Leaving behind professional, ideological, scientific and competitive barriers, they will analyse the current situation of the Austrian housing system in an interactive setting. The participants will not only formulate a lively overview of approaches to housing in Austria but also initiate new actions and goals in the political arena and their own fields.
“Re:think | Housing. Policy.” is a closed event and will be held in German without translation. If you wish to participate, please find further information on the German version of our website.
