Technology Forum

Trust in times of crisis? Shaping the future

For 26 years, the Alpbach Technology Forum has been taking place as an independent event within the European Forum Alpbach and has become an important trademark in Austrian technology politics.

The current financial and economic crisis is also reflected in the topic of our Forum this year: Trust in times of crisis - shaping the future will present various plenary sessions, eleven working groups and two special events. Three Austrian Federal Ministers, three Nobel Prize Laureates and top experts from Europe, Asia and the USA will again emphasise the importance of technology policies in the ambience of a romantic Alpine village.

Apart from the economic crisis there are other important topics at our event. A look at the past and one at the future as well as creativity and the Year of Astronomy are further central topics. Junior Alpbach and the Ö1 Children s University have already become integral parts of the Technology Forum.

Increasing numbers of participants in the past few years confirm the successful cross-over of research and development policy with other topics. Numerous sponsors support the Alpbach Technology Forum. Our special thanks go out to them.
