07: Creative industries vs. old economy: where is the economy headed?

-
Hauptschule
Breakout / Working Group
German and English language

The creative industries, including design, fashion, advertising, film, gaming, music, and journalism, are booming. Their logic is often regarded as an alternative to the usual way of doing business. Their originality and uniqueness are seen as the opposite to the mass production of the industrial age. On the one hand the lateral thinkers and visionaries – pragmatists with their dry sense of business on the other. Colourful cooperative networks on one side contrasted by high-performance patterns of discipline and hierarchy in big enterprise.
How can we dissolve these contradictions and discover new up-to-date ways of doing business that benefit all? In this working group we will elaborate and discuss new kinds of cooperation in an unconventional approach, from jointly finding ideas for innovation projects to innovation networks and user innovation.
