Affordable living space in European cities is becoming increasingly scarce. Urbanisation pushes up rent rates. Do we need rent control or is it an inadequate intervention by the state? Opinions diverge on this question. Current appartment seekers are victims of insufficient tenancy laws. How social can and must the housing market be?
