07: Doping for the Brain – Individual Freedom or Social Responsibility?

-
Hotel Alphof
Breakout / Working Group
german language

Substances originally developed for therapeutic indications are increasingly being used as neuroenhancers for improving the performance of healthy people and thus have high economic potential. Highly competitive (working) environments lead healthy people to use psychoactive substances in order to be able to compete at the top. How do we deal with (supposedly) autonomous enhancement decisions of individuals? What are the socio-cultural consequences? Should we take regulatory measures? Which role do the stakeholders of the healthcare system play?
