At present the further development and internationalisation of the European Research Area is under consideration across Europe, focusing on new strategic approaches as discussed in the “Strategy Forum on International Cooperation” and complemented by the development of a Common Strategic Framework for EU Research and Innovation Funding. In this context it is a challenge for the Austrian Science- and Research- Foreign Policy to see how to position Austria best in the international Research and Development System.
