Special Public Event: Towards a Sustainable Future

Join IIASA, the European Forum Alpbach and partners for a special evening with some of the greatest minds in sustainability, including Johan Rockström of the Stockholm Resilience Center, Jeffrey Sachs of the Earth Institute, former EU Science Adviser Anne Glover, and IIASA’s own Pavel Kabat.

The evening will include a public lecture by Johan Rockström, the official launch of the new World in 2050 Project by Jeffrey Sachs, and a debate among policymakers and researchers on transitions to sustainability and the challenges in this key year for international policymaking.

The event will also include a cultural intermezzo in which dancer/choregrapher, Gloria Benedikt, will connect the Arts, Economics, and global challenges; a panel debate on Transitions to Sustainability and the Critical Year of 2015: from Vienna to Addis Ababa, New York and Paris; and finish with a reception.
