“In the midst of every crisis lies great opportunity” (Albert Einstein) Europe and the world are facing unprecedented challenges: a full-fledged war on the European continent, a lingering pandemic, climate change, high inflation and energy (in)security. How can we overcome these challenges and can history teach us how to make things right? What does it take to secure European unity while at the same time fostering social cohesion and solidarity? Can some of these challenges even provide a way for the European Union to push ahead by moving closer together?
