Gendering Conflict, War and Weapons

Monday, 29 August
180 minutes

This course addresses the gendered dynamics of armed conflict, especially in the context of the Russian war against Ukraine. Feminist perspectives in security studies will shine a light on gender-based violence in conflict and the rise of authoritarian masculinism and militarism as drivers of war. With a focus on the UN Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in Central and Eastern Europe, we will further explore alternative concepts of security that take into account intersectional insecurities.
