The war in Ukraine has displaced hundreds of thousands of people to European countries. The majority of refugees coming to Austria are women with children and older relatives. The displaced people have more education on average than in previous waves of refugees. Austria’s integration policy must adapt to these new factors and ask what we have learned from past years and what can be improved.
