Klaus Beetz has more than four decades of industry experience in software and system engineering. With degrees in mathematics and philosophy, he started as software engineer at Nemetschek AG, a leading information technology company in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) sector. He was a member of the board of trustees at the European Software Institute, member of the executive board of Digital Europe, member of the steering group at the Eureka cluster “Information Technology for European Advancement” and member of board of the Alliance Internet of Things Innovation. He joined Siemens in 2002 as Head of the Global Technology Field “Software & System Engineering” responsible for worldwide research and technology transfer of innovative engineering technologies for software intensive systems and digital technologies. Since 1 January 2020, he has been CEO of the Knowledge and Innovation Community EIT Manufacturing.
