Previously, she served as Editor-in-Chief of ZEITmagazin and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of ZEIT ONLINE, where she developed formats such as Deutschlandgespräche and the Z2X Festival. As a Thomas Mann Fellow, she conducted research on the future of the public sphere and the effect of digital platforms on journalism and democracy.
