She is Theme Officer Democracy at the Mercator Foundation Switzerland. Between 2018-2023 and since her Master's degree in Political Science and European Law at the University of Bern, she has researched, taught and organised events at the Institute Public Sector Transformation (IPST) of the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Economics on the topics of digital democracy, smart cities & regions and sustainable digitalisation. In 2021, Flurina led the UN initiative "Policy Network on Environment and Digitalisation" (PNE) of the Internet Governance Forum IGF. In her spare time, Flurina has been involved in civic education for youth and young adults at the Discuss it association for many years.
