Sonja Geier studied architecture at the Graz University of Technology and worked as an architect in building/industrial construction for many years. In 2007 she moved to research (AEE INTEC) and in 2012 to Switzerland to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. 2018 PhD at the TU Munich (Prof. Hermann Kaufmann) in the field of industrialized timber construction. International and national research project management, lecturing and publishing activities. Member of scientific advisory boards and juries. Member of the board of Lignum Zentralschweiz. Member of EUSALP Action Group 2 - Subgroup wood. Main research interests: prefabricated timber construction, digital planning processes and circular economy, forest-wood value chains.
