Studied Philosophy and Media and Communication Science in Klagenfurt and graduated there in 1994 (M.A.). After working as a journalist, she was regional manager of Amnesty International. She has been at the University of Klagenfurt since 1998. Beginning in 2002 she developed “intervention research”. Her research interests comprise Media, Communication and Process Ethics, Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Research, Intervention Research, Sustainable Sciences, Conflict Management and Organizational Communication. She has published more than 220 articles, many of them concerning communication studies, sustainability or intervention research and edited several books and journals. Since 2020 she has been a member of the core group of the Karl Popper Kolleg “Responsible Safe and Secure Robotic Systems Engineering (SEEROSE)”, from 2005-2017 she belonged to the scientific management team for the “Interdisciplinary Doctoral Kolleg for Intervention Research (DKI)”.
