European Forum Alpbach 2019: General Topic “Liberty & Security”
From August 14 to 30, 2018, hundreds of people from the worlds of science, politics, business, culture and civil society will gather at the European Forum Alpbach to debate “Diversity & Resilience”.
The European Forum Alpbach was established in 1945 after the Second World War and meets every year with more than 5,000 attendees, 900 speakers, 700 young scholarship holders, from more than 100 countries. Past participants have included: Ban Ki-Moon, Mary Robinson, Helmut Kohl, Yitzak Rabin, Indira Gandhi, Karl Popper, Friedrich von Hayek, scores of Nobel Prize winners, leading academics, thinkers, decision-makers and many others.
