Accreditation for the European Forum Alpbach 2026, which takes place from 24 August to 4 September 2026, is granted to individuals who carry out journalistic work (including photojournalism) related to the Forum’s topics and who can provide evidence of this through one of the forms of proof listed below, as well as a valid press card (national or international). 

The following are accepted as proof: 

  • A published contribution on a thematic focus of the European Forum Alpbach, in which the applicant is explicitly named as lead author, contributing author or journalistic staff member, and which was published within the six months preceding the start of the event. (Online media must have existed for at least six months and publish editorial content on a regular basis.)
  • An email confirmation from the editor-in-chief sent from an official email address of the media outlet or publishing house, confirming the applicant’s journalistic activity or an assigned reporting commission. 

The following are not accepted as proof: 

  • private blogs or personal websites without editorial context
  • purely private social media accounts  
  • influencer or creator content without an editorial commission or journalistic involvement
  • individual guest contributions without recognisable editorial continuity 

Furthermore, individuals without journalistic activity are not eligible for press accreditation, such as customer advisors, sales managers, communications and marketing managers, and PR consultants. 

Evidence must be submitted in German or English. For contributions in other languages, a brief summary in German or English must be attached. 

Please note that data received for the purpose of processing accreditation may also be used for follow-up queries.
