Accessibility Statement

The European Forum Alpbach is commited to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) as amended, implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website: www.alpbach.org

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03) under Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a) Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Videos without subtitles

For some older videos embedded via YouTube, subtitles are currently not available. As a result, WCAG success criterion 1.2.2 “Captions (recorded)” is partially not met. Newly published videos are provided with subtitles.

Partially missing alternative text

For some images and graphic content, meaningful alternative texts are currently missing. As a result, WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 “Non-text Content” is partially not met. The content is regularly reviewed and missing alternative texts are continuously added.

Missing heading structure on older pages

On some older pages, the heading structure is not consistently implemented correctly. As a result, WCAG success criterion 1.3.1 “Info and Relationships” is partially not met. New content is created with a correct structure, and content of high relevance or frequent use is continuously being revised.

Audio descriptions for older videos

For some older videos embedded via YouTube, it is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions. As a result, WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 “Audio Description (recorded)” is partially not met. We are continuously reviewing options to provide additional text alternatives for audiovisual content.

PDF documents from third parties

Some PDF documents provided on this website are supplied by external partner organisations or third parties. We have no direct influence on their accessible design. If you experience difficulties accessing the content of these documents, please contact us. We will gladly provide the information in an accessible or alternative format where possible.
