Getting There

By train

Wörgl in Tyrol, Austria, has the best rail connections for Alpbach. You can reach Alpbach also via Jenbach in Tyrol. We recommend that you book your journey through our mobility partner ÖBB via www.oebb.at. As we are expanding the mobility in the Alpbach area together with our partner during the Forum, you have two possibilities to reach Alpbach:

From Wörgl and Jenbach take the regional train to Brixlegg. From there, take bus line 4074 or one of our shuttle bus lines 1 or 2 to Alpbach.
You also have the option of taking the shuttle bus line 1 or 2 from Wörgl or Jenbach train station to Alpbach.

At all train stations, you will find the bus stop directly in front of the train station. For the Congress Centrum Alpbach, get off at the bus stop “Alpbach Böglerhof”.

By car

The fastest way to reach Alpbach is via the Inn Valley motorway (A12): exit the motorway Kramsach/Alpbachtal, and from there it is just 9 km via Brixlegg to the village centre of Alpbach. As there is no parking space available at the Congress Centrum Alpbach, we recommend to use the parking area at the entrance of the village or to park your car at your accommodation.

By plane

Innsbruck Airport (INN), Austria
The closest airport is Innsbruck (approx. 60 km from Alpbach). From Innsbruck airport, take bus F (towards Kaplanstraße), which will take you to Innsbruck main station (“Hauptbahnhof”). The bus runs every 15–30 minutes, and the ride from the airport to Innsbruck main station takes approx. 15 minutes. From Innsbruck main station, take a train to Wörgl, Brixlegg or Jenbach. The ride to Wörgl takes approx. 30–50 minutes.

Munich Airport (MUC), Germany
From Munich Airport use the train line S8 to station München Ost. From there take the train (IC or EC) directly to Wörgl. The route planner “Scotty” of ÖBB, www.oebb.at, facilitates travel planning.

Accommodation

Each European Forum Alpbach participant will receive a confirmation after having registered successfully. Once you registered, we will send you a link to the room reservation platform. This central platform was created especially for guests of the Forum by the European Forum Alpbach, Alpbach Tourismus GmbH and the local providers.

Please note that you can only book a room via the room reservation centre after you have registered for the European Forum Alpbach.

The room reservation centre uses the entire range of rooms from the Alpbachtal region available to the European Forum Alpbach. All accommodations can be reached easily by public transport, which is supplemented and condensed by our mobility offer (see above).

Transportation during the event

We aim to provide a comfortable and fast journey between the accommodation and the Congress Centrum for all participants. For this reason, we have extended our transfer offers from 19 August to 3 September 2022 in the Alpbach region together with our mobility partner ÖBB.

Shuttle

In addition to the regular bus lines 4074 and 4115, a free transfer is running several times daily on the route Wörgl or Jenbach–Brixlegg–Reith–Alpbach–Inneralpbach to and from the Congress Centrum Alpbach in cooperation with the ÖBB. The journey with all bus lines is free of charge with your EFA ticket and/or confirmation of accommodation reservation.

Free commuter taxi services for remote accommodations

From/to: Breitenbach, Kramsach, Münster, Radfeld, Rattenberg, Strass

Should your accommodation be situated in Breitenbach, Kramsach, Münster, Radfeld, Rattenberg or Strass, you can take advantage of the free collective taxi service to and from Brixlegg train station, as well as the shuttlebus line 1 or 2 or the regional bus lines 4074 and 4115. From Brixlegg, please take any bus that goes to Alpbach. Please report your travel request at least 45 minutes before the bus departure time in Brixlegg via +43 676 88 65 65 100 or +43 5332 71718 (Mein Taxi Tirol).

From/to: Reith

If your accommodation in Reith is not close to a bus stop, you can use our free commuter taxi service to the Reith-Dorfmitte (Reith mid-town) stop. Please report your travel request at least 45 minutes before the bus departure time via +43 5336 56160 or +43 664 315 2300 (Taxi Moser).

Flexible shared taxis

Flexible shared taxis are available from 20 August to 2 September 2022. In addition to the free offers, a shared taxi service is available in order to pick you up directly at your accommodation and to bring you to the Congress Centrum Alpbach and back. In order to offer you a cheaper rate, the ride is carried out as a shared taxi. Please let us know your travel request at least 45 minutes before the desired departure time via +43 5336 56160 or +43 664 315 2300 (Taxi Moser).
