As a professor of democratic education, her work focuses on the role of citizens in democratic societies and the formation of democratic articulations. She is an affiliated researcher at the Centre for Urban Youth Research in Ottawa and a founding member of the Forum for Democracy Research in Graz. Previously, she worked for the European Commission and the Austrian Society for European Politics.
