Thomas Byrne is Ireland's Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence at the Departments of the Taoiseach, Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defence. He has served in the Irish Parliament since 2007 and as a Minister of State since 2020. Before entering politics, he practised as a lawyer and specialised in EU and competition law.
