He builds, leads and runs Süddeutsche Zeitung Dossier, a new editorial unit on digital political journalism. Before joining the Süddeutsche Zeitung in 2023, he was a Managing Editor — and member of the founding team — at Politico as well as author of Brussels Playbook, the publication's flagship morning briefing for all things Brussels and EU. Florian is an Adjunct Professor at the Florence School of Governance at the European University Institute, where he develops the School’s work on the role of the media in democratic societies.
