From 2013 on, he served as State Managing Director of the Upper Austrian People’s Party (OÖVP), followed by his role as State Minister for Social Affairs, Integration, and Youth in Upper Austria from 2021 to 2024. In 2025, he was appointed Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce. He has been Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism since April 2025.
