He is an Egyptian diplomat and has been the Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations since 2021. Previously, he served as Permanent Representative to the African Union in 2018 and to the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in 2021. Prior to this, he was Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.
