Kobernik is an expert in geoeconomics and has worked, among others, in the field of foreign policy at the European Parliament, in change management and strategic communication at Siemens, and in economic policy analysis at the Centre for Economic Strategy. She has also taught international politics and holds academic degrees in international economics, EU law, and strategic communication.
