In 2018, he was appointed Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. From October 2013 until November 2017, he was Second President of the Austrian National Council, and he has been a Member of Parliament of the Austrian People’s Party since November 7th 1994. In 2008, he was named Chairman of the Austrian People’s Party Parliamentary Group, a position he held until October 2013. Between 2000 and 2008 he was Secretary General of Österreichischer Wirtschaftsbund.
