He is an Austrian diplomat whose postings abroad include Brussels, Luxembourg and Mexico. Oberreiter has also served as Head of Cabinet to the Federal Chancellor and two Foreign Ministers. He is alumnus of the University of Vienna and the Austrian Diplomatic Academy.
