He has been active in the energy sector since the 1990s, was Director of the Italian Energy Regulatory Authority and the first Director of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). He studied Economics and now teaches Market Design and Regulation at the Florence School of Regulation.
