He is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ERSTE Foundation, which he founded in 2003. The Foundation promotes social innovation, European cohesion, and democracy. He served as CEO of Erste Group for 22 years, a leading financial services provider in Central and Eastern Europe. From 2020 to 2024, he was President of the European Forum Alpbach.
