He has been the Deputy Permanent Representative of Austria to the EU since 2023. Before that, he held several positions related to EU affairs (Director for EU affairs, Head of the European Law Department at MFA, Antici). He also worked at the Austrian Embassies in Paris and Tehran. Wirtenberger studied law in Austria and in Bruges.
