Text & Style Guide – BIONOTE


How to draft a bionote

To ensure your visibility as a speaker at the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) within our programme, we require some information about you. Please refer to this style guide for detailed requirements.

Please note that the English version is mandatory, a German one is optional.

What we need to know from you

  • First and last name (without academic or other titles)
  • Position
  • Organisation

Optional:

  • Website/CV (web link)
  • LinkedIn (web link)
  • Social Media (web link)

Bionote:

  • max. 250 characters
  • This information will be displayed on the website, in the app, and within the programme.
  • Purpose: This is meant to give us a brief description of yourself and your most relevant activities and fields of knowledge.
  • Bionotes always begin with the person’s first and last name.
  • Multiple professional positions are separated by a vertical bar | in the titel.
  • Due to the limited word count, we kindly ask you to refrain from including academic titles in the text unless they are directly relevant to your current field of work.
  • No line breaks are permitted within the text.

  • Maximum 1 MB, 784 x 784 px, PNG format

Structure

Each bionote should answer the following three guiding questions:

  • What do you currently do? (current position or activity)
  • What is your thematic focus or interest? (e.g. goals, research interests, engagement)
  • What is your background? (e.g. education, professional experience, thematic focus)

Example:

Samira Ben Ali (Climate Justice Advocate, World's Youth for Climate Justice) 

BIONOTE: Samira Ben Ali currently leads global campaigns at Youth for Climate Justice and supports ocean projects as a climate activist. With a background in environmental law and political science, she bridges grassroots action and global policy to fight for climate justice.
