An official Side Event of the Munich Security Conference

At a time of profound geopolitical change, Europe’s ability to act strategically has become a central question for security, economic resilience, and the future of the international order. The Sovereign Europe Forum 2026, held as an official side event of the Munich Security Conference, brings together senior policymakers, business leaders, and experts for an in-depth discussion on Europe’s capacity to act in a fragmented global environment.

Co-hosted by the European Forum Alpbach, United Europe, and the Sovereign Europe Forum.

Speakers include:

José Manuel Barroso, former President of the European Commission | Andrius Kubilius, EU Commissioner for Defence and Space | Moritz Schularick, President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

Participation is by invitation only. Due to limited capacity, the event is already fully booked. Attendance requires a separate official MSC accreditation.
