Understanding Crypto-Assets: Bitcoin, Values and Vulnerabilities

In this seminar we will explain how crypto-assets work, for whom and for what purposes. The seminar starts with Bitcoin, describing how it functions both technically as well as socio-economically. We then question the ‘revolutionary’, world-changing nature of crypto-assets, by inquiring into whose values they represent and which vulnerabilities arise as they become increasingly integrated into a rapidly changing global political economy.
