Valuing the Oceans: Challenges and Opportunities

Tuesday, 19. August
Content
180 minutes
By Invitation only

The oceans are getting increasingly overused, economised and exploited for their resources at all depths and scales. One of the many key challenges is how ocean diversity is compromised by industrial fishing. How to better care for, value and govern the oceans and their natural riches? Which role do governments, civil society and science play, and what are the means by which they engage? This seminar will present and discuss these challenges and the rich opportunities oceans still offer.
