Matthias C. Kettemann

Matthias C. Kettemann is Professor of Innovation, Theory and Philosophy of Law and head of the Department of Theory and Future of Law at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. A researcher on internet law with more than 200 publications, he also holds research program and research group leadership positions at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institute, Hamburg, the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, Berlin, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He has studied law in Graz, Geneva, and as a Fulbright and Boas Scholar at Harvard Law School, and taught at the Universities of Frankfurt, Heidelberg, and Jena. He has acted as an expert on digital rights and governance for various ministries and parliament, major online platforms and companies, foundations, and international organizations like the OSCE, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe.
