She is currently the European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy. She is an experienced Swedish lawyer and politician with a strong background in European affairs. From 2022 to 2024, she served as Sweden’s Minister for EU Affairs, playing a key role during Sweden’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Between 2010 and 2022, she was a member of the Swedish Parliament, including as Second Vice-Chair of its Committee on EU Affairs.
