Ukraine’s civil society has been a cornerstone of resilience throughout the war – mobilising support, defending democratic values, and filling critical gaps. As the country transitions from resistance to recovery, civic actors play a vital role in ensuring that reconstruction is inclusive, transparent, and responsive to local needs. Join a cross-sectoral dialogue with Ukrainian civic leaders, officials, and European partners to explore how recovery efforts can build on the same resilience that has defined Ukraine’s civil society during the war. Together, we will explore why civic engagement is not only a democratic ideal, but also a strategic necessity for sustainable reconstruction based on European values. This session aims to inform the Ukraine Recovery Lab and foster partnerships that support resilient, bottom-up recovery efforts.
