Münz is an expert on population development issues, international migration and demographic aging as well as on and their impact on economy and social security systems. He was an advisor to Jean-Claude Juncker during his time as the President of the European Commission and also worked for Erste Group. Before that, he taught at several universities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. He is currently a visiting professor at the Central European University in Vienna.
